Job description
Our client is a dynamic and entrepreneurial organisation operating across Ireland and the UK. It delivers value to its clients through direct business-to-business relationships. Specialising in a range of product categories within the consumer healthcare sector, the company has experienced continued growth, leading to the creation of a new Sales Director role. This position will drive the organisation's commercial strategy and success across the UK and Irish markets.
The Position
This newly created Sales Director opportunity will be responsible for the retention and development of the existing and long-standing client relationships and working with the other key internal stakeholders in the organisation to grow the sales numbers in the UK and Irish markets. Key to this will be the focus on expanding revenue, managing and developing a high-performing sales team, and identifying new product opportunities to meet the evolving needs of the market.
For the right candidate, this means they would join a hugely successful and agile business as part of the senior leadership team with the opportunity to lead the strategic revenue growth agenda.
Key responsibilities would include:
- Develop and implement a sales strategy to drive revenue growth, whilst maintaining existing margins, across the UK and Irish markets.
- Identify and seize opportunities within key customer segments.
- Identifying key market opportunities and presenting the Return on Investment proposals to the business.
- Analyse market trends and customer needs to inform sales strategies and product positioning.
- Lead, manage, and inspire a dynamic sales team, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Set clear performance objectives, monitor progress, and provide coaching to achieve and exceed targets.
- Foster a collaborative, entrepreneurial team culture that thrives on innovation and results.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, acting as a trusted advisor
- Address customer challenges with agility, ensuring satisfaction and fostering loyalty.
- Develop strategies to strengthen existing partnerships and establish new ones.
- Collaborate with marketing, R&D, and regulatory teams to identify unmet market needs and propose new product opportunities.
- Lead the launch of new products, ensuring their successful introduction and adoption in the market.
- Work closely with the senior leadership team to align sales strategies with broader business objectives.
- Contribute to the overall direction and strategy of the company by providing market insights and innovative ideas.
- Support long-term strategies to create additional value in the company's international markets.
The Person
In order to be considered for this Sales Director opportunity, you will need to be a highly commercial sales professional with proven experience in the achievement of revenue and market share growth targets in the UK and Ireland within the pharmaceutical and/or FMCG market segment.
Specifically, we are looking for high achievers with the following experience and competencies:
- Extensive senior-level B2B sales experience in a healthcare product sales environment in both the Irish and UK markets.
- A developed people leader who can motivate and inspire the sales team to grow business relationships and sales numbers.
- Strong emotional intelligence with deep social skills who is humble and takes ownership/responsibility for their actions.
- A commercial approach to business and the ability to spot and create opportunity and value.
- Financial literacy and understanding the commercial levers of the business.
- A self-starter who can work independently.
- A genuine passion for sales and customer relationships with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- A flexible approach with the willingness to learn and develop.
