Our client, a global leader in the beverage industry who is a vital part of a renowned multinational network, contributing to one of the world's largest known brands, now require an experienced Applications Engineer for a 12-month contract for their site in the West of Ireland.

As the Applications Engineer you will support the Systems team in building and maintaining applications while co-ordinating with cross-functional teams working on other aspects of the infrastructure to ensure unity.

The Position

• You will support with and manage software projects, ensuring thorough verification and validation.
• Translate user requirements into functional and efficient applications.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality code.
• You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving software bugs.
• Manage source control using GIT for proper documentation and tracking.
• Integrate software applications with databases and industrial devices.
• Apply continuous improvement techniques to optimise processes.
• Support initiatives aligned with the site and wider organisation.

The Person

• Minimum of 4 years' relevant programming experience.
• Proficient in C# and VB.NET technologies.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Proficiency with SQL Server and SQL query language.
• Experience with web application frameworks and services (e.g., JavaScript, HTML5)
• Familiarity with code versioning tools (GIT, VSS, TFS).
• Knowledge of industrial manufacturing software (Batch, SCADA, HMI PLCs) is advantageous.
