Job description

A leading innovative pharmaceutical organisation are investing into their new Irish facility. The company is a global leader in the therapeutic areas of Haemophilia disorders and Diabetes. This is an established site the business acquired so a full program of transformation is underway to complete a retrofit alongside a number of upgrades across the campus.

The business is looking to attract a very experienced Construction Manager to oversee a number of key projects. This is a high-profile position within the site as you will be the key business representative managing relations and delivery of their construction partner. the progress of these business-critical projects.

This is initially a 12-month contract with the option to extend thereafter.

The Position

As a key member of the Engineering Project Team, you will report into the Director of Engineering and oversight the delivery of key campaigns across the facility. This is a complex and challenging role requiring a skilled professional with exceptional communication and influencing skills.

You will work closely with key consultants within the business to support the delivery of this program of works from concept design through to installation, overseeing project delivery, budget management and ensuring all teams are fully resourced.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of planned and future work at the campus - construction, utilities and facilities infrastructure, services to site, retrofitting of existing buildings.
  • Engage with local county council, utilities service providers, transport dept etc. to negotiate and secure cooperation on land zoning and access to key site services.
  • Oversee vendor delivery against targeted project objectives.
  • Monitor progress and performance against targeted metrics and key milestones.
  • Support the resolution of cross-functional issues to reduce any impact to work schedules.
  • Manage project costings, scope of works, scheduling and change controls as required.
  • Present to key stakeholders both internal and external to the business in a competent manner.
  • Collaborate with peers, colleagues and vendors respectively.

The Person

  • Third level degree qualified in a technical discipline.
  • Have a minimum of 10 years' working in a GMP environment.
  • Experience managing sub project teams from design stage through to operational handover.
  • Project management certification is desirable.
  • Be collaborative in your approach to work and an effective communicator.
  • Engage cross functionally to deliver on key project milestones in conjunction with the project team.
  • Autonomous and a self-starter.
