Job description
Our client, a globally recognised pharmaceutical company with a large manufacturing facility specialising in the production of treatments for rare diseases, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their team. Located in the South-East, this is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a highly innovative and dynamic environment.
The Position
As a Maintenance Technician, you will support the Operations Team in maintaining seamless operations across production, utilities, and facilities. Key responsibilities include:
Maintenance and Operations
- Troubleshooting and resolving process equipment issues to ensure reliable plant operations.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks (PM, PdM & Calibrations) as per planning and scheduling requirements.
- Minimising equipment breakdowns and disruptions in production, utilities, and facilities processes.
- Maintaining accurate records in the CMMS for all maintenance, servicing, and refurbishment work.
- Supervising external contractors/vendors to ensure equipment remains validated and operational.
- Developing and managing Service Level Agreements for equipment and systems.
Regulatory Compliance
- Working closely with customers and support teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including GMP, FDA, HPRA, and EPA requirements.
- Leading and supporting Continuous Improvement initiatives within relevant areas and systems.
- Ensuring all responsibilities are performed in compliance with GMP regulations.
Health, Safety, and Environment
- Adhering to all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Actively fostering a positive safety culture by prioritizing safety in all activities.
Quality Compliance
- Ensuring all tasks comply with company standards, cGMP, cGLP, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
- Taking ownership of quality compliance for all assigned responsibilities.
The Person
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Fully qualified to National Craft Standard or equivalent third-level qualification.
- At least 2 years' maintenance experience in a biopharmaceutical or similar cGMP manufacturing environment (e.g., API, OSD, Med Device, Infant Formula).
- Multi-skilled, with a preference for experience in Utilities (Clean and Black Systems).
- Familiarity with equipment such as HVAC, WFI/PUW, Process Air/Nitrogen, Plant Steam, CHW, and Compressed Air.
- Proven experience in maintaining facilities, including front-of-house systems, canteens, and offices.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to interpret P&IDs, system layouts, wiring, and pneumatic diagrams.
- Knowledge of GMP regulatory requirements for maintenance activities.
- Proficiency in CMMS systems such as PEMAC, MAXIMO, or SAP PM is advantageous.
- Ability to operate and interpret data from control systems (SCADA, QBMS, BMS).
- Experience in drafting SOPs, Work Instructions, and Preventive Maintenance plans.
