Job description
A leading innovative diagnostics business are expanding their footprint in Galway. This company is a global leader in development of diagnostics kits to identify viral diseases. This is an important hub for the coordination of key global activities and a new lab space is being prepared for a full retrofit.
The business is looking to attract an experienced Engineering Project Manager to oversee the installation and commissioning of this lab suite. This is initially a 12-month contract.
The Role
As a key member of the Engineering Team, you will report into Director level and oversight the delivery of this new lab fitout project. This is a complex and challenging role requiring a skilled professional with exceptional communication and organisational skills.
You will work closely with external vendors and internal stakeholders to support the delivery of this program of works through to installation, overseeing project delivery, budget management and ensuring all works are carried out in line with regulatory and safety standards.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Oversight of planning and project execution milestones.
- Engage with local team to support equipment selection and key site services.
- Oversee vendor delivery against targeted project objectives.
- Monitor progress and performance against targeted metrics and key milestones.
- Support the resolution of cross-functional issues to reduce any impact to work schedules.
- Manage project costings, scope of works, scheduling and change controls as required.
- Present to key stakeholders both internal and external to the business in a competent manner.
- Collaborate with peers, colleagues and vendors respectively.
The Person
- Third level degree qualified in a technical discipline.
- Have a minimum of 10 years' working on installation projects within a regulated site.
- Experience managing projects from design stage through to operational handover.
- Be collaborative in your approach to work and an effective communicator.
- Engage cross functionally to deliver on key project milestones in conjunction with the Project Team.
- Autonomous and a self-starter.
