Job description

We have partnered with a a global leader in the animal health sector dedicated to delivering innovative, high-quality medicinal products. The business is committed to innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in all of their operations and have created a new role for a skilled Utilities Engineer to join their Midlands operation. This role will focus on assessing improvements and ensuring the highest standards are adhered to.

This is initially a 12-month contract position. You will join an established team of professionals focused on sustainability and efficiency.

The Position

As a Utilities Engineer, you will work alongside the site services team to manage key systems for the site. Be responsible for ensuring that buildings and equipment operate efficiently and safely. You will oversee maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to key utilities systems, coordinating and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.

  • Reporting to the Head of Engineering, this position will work closely with the Site Services Team and a Facilities Lead to deliver key systems across the operation.
  • Take full ownership for HVAC, compressed air, water systems, CA, CS, PW, WFI and key energy requirements.
  • Oversee the clean and black utility URS and support the facilities department.
  • Development and implementation of maintenance strategies for the Utilities systems across the site ensuring all shut-down plans are adhered to.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Wastewater Treatment plant ensuring compliance with IE licence.
  • Conduct regular inspections of systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage improvement projects, including renovations and upgrades to utilities systems.
  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors for routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Identify and implement efficiency measures to reduce costs and improve effectiveness.

The Person

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field).
  • Proven experience working within a manufacturing site supporting key Utilities systems.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and delivering lean projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
