Job description

Our client, a world-renowned leader in the biotech sector, is expanding its global operations and seeking an exceptional Senior Director of Engineering to lead the lifecycle management of component molds on a worldwide scale.

As the strategic owner of molding operations, you'll spearhead lifecycle management at contract manufacturing sites, ensuring performance standards, controls, and designs meet the highest standards across all commercialization projects. You'll also maintain validated test methods and seamlessly transfer them across internal and external sites.

The Position

  • Develop and execute the global lifecycle strategy for component molds, managing a significant budget within the global components operation.
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure robust performance, controls, and long-term sustainability with third-party vendors.
  • Shape and refine metrics to track progress, especially in contract manufacturer performance and capability.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure product systems are tightly controlled, resolving any issues promptly.
  • Serve as a pivotal member of the global molding team, driving collaboration across engineering, quality, health & safety, and commercialisation functions.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring a strong pipeline for future leadership.
  • Drive the strategic alignment of molding activities with business goals while ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining inspection readiness.
  • Travel occasionally to key contract manufacturers and internal facilities, ensuring top-tier operational standards.

The Person

  • Proven leader with extensive experience in medical devices or R&D, adept at navigating and leading within global matrix environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing controls, with particular expertise in injection molding and device manufacturing principles.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities with a focus on people development and leadership.
  • Solution-oriented mindset, with a track record of problem-solving and performance improvement.
