Job description

Our client is a global leader in the biotech sector who are investing heavily in their Irish presence. As one of the largest producers of therapeutics globally the business has revenues upwards of $10 billion per annum. This more recent investment involves the construction of a new state-of-the-art biologics drug substance manufacturing facility in Munster.

The business is looking to attract a very experienced Project Manager to oversee the progress of critical manufacturing projects. This role is pivotal to enabling the organisation to reach its ambitious timelines to operational readiness.

This is initially a 12-month contract with the option to extend thereafter.

The Position

  • Lead and manage capital projects consisting of contracted professionals to safely achieve project objectives from front end design through operational qualification.
  • Project objectives include: safety/environmental compliance and continuous improvement, relentless pursuit of value improvements via cost or schedule enhancements at all delivery stages, fulfilment of project business objectives in the form of capability delivered with adherence to quality objectives.
  • Develop and maintain safety and environmental execution plans for pro-jects.
  • Ensure compliance to safety and environmental policies, procedures, and work rules for project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors from conceptual design through operational qualification.
  • Demonstrate leadership and continuous improvement in safety and environmental processes.
  • Lead with a disciplined, structured approach to project management based on industry accepted project management tool-sets.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with project team, business partners and other stakeholders.
  • Projects will be of strategic importance to the Enter-prise so the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders is of utmost importance with attention to detail and the ability to relate those details to the overall business objective.
  • Effectively work with site personnel to ensure that capabilities are de-livered and consistent with the needs of the operation while maintaining safety, cost, and sched-ule conformance.
  • Interact with the external environment and represent the client to external partners and to the community. Foster the right culture on the worksite as well as convey this externally

The Person

  • Third Level Qualification or equivalent preferably in an engineering / project management field.
  • In depth knowledge of, and experience in, the application of industry accepted project management experience. Demonstrated value for a disciplined, structured approach to project management and the ability to create and communicate progress via a metric based program.
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience across major pharmaceutical start up's
  • Experience managing high-value capital projects (€ 5 - 50 Million).
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to influence personnel and organizations without having direct administrative responsibility for them.
  • Influence on and understanding of the external environment in order to understand comparative value and possible risks.
