Job description

We are seeking an Industrial Relations/Employee Relations Lead to join a large leading utilities organisation, focusing on enhancing employee relations and ensuring compliance with Irish labour laws. This role is available on a 2 day week permanent basis in Dublin City Centre.

The Position

  • Continue to foster positive relationships between employees, management, and representative bodies.
  • Serve as the primary contact between the company and staff representatives.
  • Organise and lead meetings with the representative body, updating the company accordingly.
  • Handle negotiations and consultations with trade unions and employee representatives.
  • Collaborate with HR Operations to propose ER/IR solutions within corporate governance.
  • Manage internal and external employee/industrial relations cases and liaise with legal teams for resolution.
  • Proactively resolve ER/IR cases and represent the company in external cases (WRC, Labour Court).
  • Advise the organisation on labour laws and regulations, and counsel workers on policies and procedures.
  • Prepare for arbitration and keep management updated on labour law developments.
  • Investigate employee misconduct and support managers with challenging people issues.
  • Ensure all HR practices comply with legal standards and align with the employer brand.

The Person

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial relations in Ireland.
  • Extensive knowledge of Irish labour law and employment legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong conflict management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of employee health, safety, and wellbeing practices.
