Job description

A requirement has recently arisen for a Technical Operations Leader to head up all Tech Op's functions based out of their Dublin manufacturing plant. The Associate Director of Technical Operations (Site Head of Technical Operations sitting on the organisation's Site Leadership Team) will lead a dynamic and growing team through a period of growth for the site in addition to managing several new product transfers into the plant.

The Position

  • Lead technical fluency with all forms of processes and equipment.
  • Operate under dynamic conditions and rapidly adapt to evolving priorities and requirements.
  • Display strong leadership capabilities and behaviours to engage, develop, manage and communicate with a diverse team of technically focused and specialised individual contributors.
  • Deliver tech transfer, process development, process scale-up, and validation.
  • Develop team to ensure top-tier technical and regulatory excellence in knowledge is maintained.
  • Champion New technology assessment and implementation.
  • Support alternate materials characterisation and qualifications.
  • Market & establish product process optimisation and remediation and support continuous process verification.
  • Ensure product launch/transfer supply robustness and readiness.
  • Manage small-scale manufacturing areas and promote their capabilities across the business.
  • Develop and drive the CPV program.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies when required.
  • Lead department initiatives and projects.

The Person

  • BS/MS/PhD in pharmacy, chemical engineering, or related science field.
  • Proven experience leading Pharma R&D and/or manufacturing technical services.
  • Strong collaborative analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical expertise in pharmaceutical technology and automated control systems, including understanding Minitab and statistical technologies.
  • Experience leading technical teams or similar in a small-molecule Drug Product or Drug Substance manufacturing plant would be beneficial.
